Mont Limon, the roof of Rodrigues

At 398 metres above sea level, Mont Limon is the highest point of Rodrigues. From its summit, you take in the whole island at a glance: the north coast and the port of Mathurin, the hills of the interior and, on a clear day, the coral reef that fringes the lagoon.

A short, accessible climb

Allow about 30 minutes to reach the summit from the car park. The trail is short, waymarked and accessible to anyone in normal physical condition. It is an excellent introduction to get a feel for the island’s geography in the first days of your stay.

The best time to go

  • Early in the morning to enjoy the soft light and avoid the heat
  • In the late afternoon for the sunset over the lagoon
