This walk combines two of the pleasures of Rodrigues: coastal walking and snorkeling. The trail follows the coast from Baladirou to Rivière Banane, offering regular views over the turquoise lagoon.
Snorkeling with Fanio
At Rivière Banane, Fanio organises snorkeling outings in the lagoon. His knowledge of the spots and the local marine life makes all the difference — he knows exactly where to find the best corals and observe the tropical fish. Ask around on site to arrange a session.
Lunch under the thatched hut
A stone’s throw from the beach, the Rivière Banane hut serves Creole dishes in a simple, authentic setting: grilled fish, achards, rice. The view over the lagoon does the rest.
